Caring For Your Glasses

Although it’s difficult to estimate how many people in America wear glasses we do know approximately 75% of adults use vision correction. So over 61% are wearing glasses daily. It is easy to overlook the importance of care needed to make sure your glasses meet your everyday needs. When your car is low on fuel you gas it up or you will come to a sudden stop! This is likely to happen at a very inconvenient time and place. Maintaining your glasses is no different.

Every day wear of your glasses includes opening and closing the temples (arms) most pairs of glasses have a very small screw that holds the temple in place and in time that screw can become loose! So remember to check your glasses frequently because we wouldn’t want you to loose a screw! Maintaining your glasses is key!

At times we mistake our glasses for a headband and as convenient as this may be it unfortunately causes the frame to stretch out of shape, this is because the top of our head is larger than the front of our face.

Cleaning your glasses with a soft microfiber cleaning cloth is recommended, tissues, paper towel and your clothing can cause fine scratches on your lenses. We all love our furry friends but guess what? They also love small shiny objects and glasses are a perfect play toy! Remember to keep your glasses out of your pets sight!
