Essential Guidelines for Safe Eye Makeup Practices

Maintain Clean Hands and Tools

First, always ensure your hands are clean before applying any makeup. Any bacteria or germs on your fingers could be transferred to your eyes, potentially causing infection. Similarly, makeup tools such as brushes and applicators should be cleaned and regularly washed to avoid contamination.

Use Quality Products

Ensure that your makeup products are high quality and safe for use around the eyes. Always check the ingredients of eye makeup products and avoid those containing harmful chemicals. You should also pay attention to expiry dates. Expired products can harbor bacteria that can lead to eye infections.

Never Share Your Eye Makeup

Sharing your eye makeup, especially mascara and eyeliners, is a no-no. This could easily transfer bacteria and infectious agents from person to person.

Remove Makeup Before Sleeping
